Chicago Bohras Partner with Gower Schools to Support Students This Spring Break

Parents and Project Rise volunteers from the Dawoodi Bohra community of Chicago partnered with Gower Cares Closet, an initiative of Gower School District, to pack snack bags for local students and families in need this Spring Break. Around 60 to-go snack bags were packed and distributed to children at Gower West elementary school and Gower Middle School in time for the upcoming school holidays.

Gower Foundation and the Gower Middle Student Council raised money for this activity as part of a larger initiative by the school to help children and families of Gower who are in need.  The school accepts clothing, school supplies and personal hygiene supplies as well as cash and gift card donations.

Rebecca Laratta, Assistant Superintendent for Gower School District and the head of Gower Cares, said, “We truly appreciate Project Rise’s assistance helping the Gower Cares families. Thanks again for everyone’s help.”Project Rise is a global initiative established by the Dawoodi Bohras to raise the conditions of vulnerable members of society in a range of ways, such as providing healthy food and access to education, and protecting the natural environment.
