OUR COMMUNITY
We are the Dawoodi Bohras residing in the twin cities (Minneapolis/St Paul) and its suburban area. There are around 40 Dawoodi Bohra families residing in the twin cities area worshiping at Jamali Hall (community hall) in the city of Plymouth, MN.
Dawoodi Bohras started calling twin cities their home in the early 1980’s. In the year 2009, the local jamaat – or community – was established to assist in the religious and community affairs of the Dawoodi Bohra residing here.
Many American Dawoodi Bohras in twin cities are doctors, IT professionals, teachers, academics and successful business people. There are many fortune 500 companies in the twin cities area where Dawoodi Bohras work and strive towards the success of these companies. We are proud of the contribution we make to the local communities and its economy.
As per the guidance of the Prophet- “Love for the country is part of the faith,” Dawoodi Bohras in Minneapolis strive to do everything possible in love for America. There are Dawoodi Bohras of Minneapolis who have served several postings in Iraq as servicemen maintaining the pride and honor of the country. As good citizens of the country, our community members volunteer in the activities that benefit local law enforcement and are part of the committee that helps the local FBI team whenever they need support.
Dawoodi Bohras in twin cities are proud Minnesotans where the “Minnesota Nice” has deep rooted in our behavior. Minnesota is renowned as “Land of 10,000 lakes” and for its natural beauty which we cherish, preserve and enhance as per our capabilities.
