The Dawoodi Bohra Community of the Greater Seattle Area is a diverse group of around 120 young families from around the world. The first families came here from East Africa (Tanzania and Madagascar) in the 1970s and were truly the pioneers. Microsoft and the tech boom happened in the 90s and that attracted many engineers to the tech haven that Seattle was becoming around that time. The Dawoodi Bohra Community of Seattle today has a technology core with professionals at all levels in companies like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google.

Education and engineering have been at the heart of the Bohra community in Seattle. Our kids are engaged in technology early on and have gone on to study robotics, artificial intelligence and similar subjects at top universities around the USA.

We are proud contributors to the American Society. Our members are involved in local community projects like habitat for humanity, food bank donation drives, and toys for tots drives around holidays. We teach our kids to be active contributors to their communities and country at large.

We are a young community with school-going kids in almost every household. There is also considerable interest and effort within the community on fitness. Members of our community participate in the Seattle to Portland (STP) bike race every summer. Our second generation is ready to join in this annual tradition.

We are in the process of building a permanent home, a masjid in the heart of Redmond. In the meantime, we worship at a community hall located at: 12903 NE 126th PL, Unit B242, Kirkland WA 98034
