Nestled in the Heartland of America, the Dawoodi Bohra community of Columbus may be small, but it’s full of heart. Our 50 families, spread across Columbus, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Dayton, are connected by our shared faith and commitment to building a better community.
Where We Are
Our members live throughout Ohio, with Columbus serving as the heart of our community. We gather regularly at our center for prayers, events, and celebrations. You’ll also find us enjoying the city’s treasures, from strolling through Franklin Park Conservatory to cheering on the Buckeyes at Ohio State University.

Our journey in Ohio began in the early 2000s, when families looking for new opportunities made their way here. By 2005, we officially formed our community, with Columbus as our central hub. Over the years, we’ve grown into a close-knit group that embodies the hardworking, welcoming spirit of the Midwest.

In true Heartland fashion, we’re builders of careers, relationships, and values. Our members work in a wide range of fields, from medicine and education to IT and entrepreneurship. Many of our students are pursuing big dreams at The Ohio State University and other schools across the state.

Our community may be smaller compared to others, but we’ve made sure Columbus has everything we need to stay connected and grow. Our local center is where we come together to pray, celebrate, share meals, and support one another through all of life’s moments.

Living in the Heartland inspires us to give back. We actively participate in local food drives, environmental initiatives, and interfaith outreach. During Ramadan, we host iftar dinners to foster connections with our neighbors and celebrate the spirit of togetherness.

Ohio’s natural beauty, from its scenic rivers to its lush parks, motivates us to focus on sustainability. We engage in tree-planting initiatives, reduce waste, and promote eco-friendly habits to preserve the state’s landscape for future generations.
