Our Community in Dallas

Sprawling the metroplex of Dallas and Fort Worth deep in the heart of North Texas, the Dawoodi Bohra community for decades has called this Lone Star State home. From the bustling cityscapes of Dallas to the charming neighborhoods of Fort Worth, we embrace the Texan spirit of friendliness, hospitality, and BBQ (though ours will have a halal twist!).

Where We Are

Our community of 727 members count lives around our masjid located in Irving, Texas, a center where faith, family, and friendship come together. Spanning across the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, you might find us volunteering at local food banks, participating in city clean-ups, or enjoying the best of North Texas—whether it’s strolling through the Dallas Arboretum or catching a game at Globe Life Field.

Our Story

Our journey here as the Dawoodi Bohra community of Dallas and Fort Worth began back in 1975, with just two pioneering families who saw the opportunities here and set the foundation for what is now a flourishing congregation.

Our Story

As North Texas grew, so did we, into a diverse and close-knit community united by faith, culture, and a shared commitment to contribute back to society. From hosting traditional meals to attending local rodeos, our story continues to tell of our heritage and Texas pride.

Our Community

Our members come from all walks of life—professionals, educators, entrepreneurs, students, and homemakers who have brought their stories from India, Pakistan, Africa, and Europe. This diversity strengthens our community and enriches the broader Dallas and Fort Worth area.

Education is a cornerstone of our values, with many young members excelling at universities like UT Dallas and SMU. Other members study abroad at our community’s premier Arabic institution, Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, with branches in Pakistan, India, and Africa.

Together, we work to grow and contribute to the local economy and development that makes North Texas so special, all the while staying true to our shared values of compassion and service.

Our masjid in Irving is the heart of our community. It’s a gathering space for prayers, traditional meals, and events that reflect our commitment to progress and connection. This is where we come together to celebrate, collaborate, and contribute to the betterment of our shared home.

Serving the Wider Community

Giving back is an integral part of our faith. Here in Dallas and Fort Worth, we actively participate in initiatives that support local development. From addressing hunger to protecting the environment, our community is focused on creating a positive impact in North Texas.

Serving the Wider Community

We’re proud to collaborate with local organizations like the Interfaith Alliance of Irving and Keep Irving Beautiful. Together, we’ve distributed food to those in need, kept public spaces clean, and worked to reduce plastic waste in the Trinity River.
During Ramadan, we host iftar dinners to share meals and stories with neighbors from all faiths, strengthening the bonds that make this region feel like home.
