Tucked between the sun-soaked streets of Woodland Hills and iconic neighborhoods of West LA, the Dawoodi Bohra community of Los Angeles has thrived in and around the city for years. Our families, congregating over 556 members, reflect the warmth and hope that make this city so extraordinary.
Where We Are
At the heart of our community is our masjid, where faith meets friendship, nestled into the picturesque neighborhood of Woodland Hills. Surrounded by the rolling hills of the San Fernando Valley and framed by golden sunsets, the center of our community feels like it’s straight out of a postcard.
On any given day, you’ll find us hosting a food drive, organizing tree planting with California Volunteers, or enjoying the sunshine on a hiking trail just a stone’s throw away from the bustling energy of Los Angeles. This city is more than just our home; it’s a part of our story, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Since the first few families that settled in Los Angeles decades prior, over the years, we’ve built a community around hard work and education. Made up of doctors, educators, engineers, business owners, creatives, and homemakers, we value the importance of learning and contributing. Los Angeles is a city where dreams take flight, and we want to continue to work to make dreams come true for all.

Our Community
Our community is as diverse as Los Angeles itself, with members from India, Pakistan, East Africa, and beyond. We celebrate this diversity through interfaith collaborations, cultural events, and initiatives that cultivate mutual respect. From participating in local clean-ups along the LA River to engaging with organizations and city officials, we’re dedicated to building a city where everyone feels they belong.
Our young members excel at universities across California, with many pursuing careers in healthcare, technology, and beyond. Our women are trailblazers, owning 15 thriving small businesses and excelling in professions like information technology and law. Education is at the core of our values, ensuring the next generation carries our legacy of compassion and service.
