Surrounded by the beauty of Minnesota’s Land of 10,000 Lakes, the Dawoodi Bohras of Minneapolis have flourished for years. With over 50 families and 169 members counting, we are proud Minneapolitans contributing to the friendly neighborhoods, innovation, and sustainability that this city is known for.
Where We Are
Our community spans the Twin Cities area, from bustling downtown Minneapolis to the serene shores of Lake Minnetonka. Whether gathering at our community center or enjoying the scenic parks and waterways that define Minnesota, we embrace the outdoor spirit of this beautiful state.
On any given weekend, you might find us hiking around Minnehaha Falls, volunteering at local food banks, or taking in a game at Target Field. The lakes, rivers, and trails of Minnesota are part of our everyday lives, making this place truly feel like home.

Where We Are
Our Story
The story of the Dawoodi Bohra community in Minneapolis began in the early 1980s when the first families settled here, drawn by the city’s thriving economy and renowned educational opportunities. Over the years, our community has grown to include professionals in healthcare, technology, education, business, and more—all contributing to the growth and vitality of the Twin Cities.
Our Story
Our young members excel in Minnesota’s exceptional universities, while others pursue religious studies at Al Jamea-tus-Saifiyah, the premier Arabic academy of the Dawoodi Bohra community. Today, we are proud to be a close-knit, dynamic group that blends tradition with modernity.
Who We Are
Our members reflect the diverse interests and talents of Minneapolis itself. From entrepreneurs and artists to engineers and environmental advocates, we are united by our shared commitment to education, service, and innovation.
We actively promote Quranic memorization across all ages, with several members having achieved the incredible milestone of memorizing the entire Quran. We are proud of our strong emphasis on faith, learning, and family, which guide us in all that we do.

Service is at the heart of who we are. In Minneapolis, we actively support initiatives that uplift our neighbors and preserve the environment. From hosting interfaith iftar dinners during Ramadan to organizing clean-ups around the Chain of Lakes, we work to make a positive impact in our city.
