Our Community in Seattle
Here in Washington state, Dawoodi Bohras in the Greater Seattle region have prospered for decades. With over a hundred families to date, our community members, Seattlelites that are small business owners, IT professionals, medical experts, realtors, and lawyers alike, take pride in contributing to this vibrant state that we call home.
Where We Are
Our community is spread out over the Greater Seattle region, a place of abundant opportunities, outstanding schools, scenic parks, and a welcoming atmosphere (despite the rain).
You’ll find us congregating regularly at our community center in Kirkland as well as taking part in the annual Portland bike races.

Where We Are

Our Story
Our story in Seattle begins in the 1970s, when our first families settled in Greater Seattle. Since then, the Seattle Bohras have grown to a driven and dynamic community of 130 families and 452 people.
Our Story

Our Community
From young to old, our community is built by the diverse interests that our men and women master, ranging from fields in STEM, environmental sustainability, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, and social justice.
We have students who pursue the fantastic universities of our state as well as locals that choose to study abroad at Aljamea-tus-Saifiyah, the premier Arabic institution of the Dawoodi Bohra community.
Our community supports Quranic memorization across all ages, with six members having memorized the entire Quran.

Serving the Wider Community
The Dawoodi Bohras of Seattle have a long-standing commitment to giving back to our state and our nation.
Serving the Wider Community

During Ramadan, we like to welcome our interfaith neighbors and friends to frequent iftar dinners. On Independence Day, we often hold events to celebrate our nation that express gratitude to first responders and healthcare workers especially, who are the pillars of our state’s well-being. Actively supporting hospitals, contributing to charitable organizations, and prioritizing societal well-being are at the forefront of our various initiatives. Environmental responsibility, particularly, is central to our commitment, with our community notably supporting Water1st events annually.
These initiatives rally our young and old together, because we’re all proud of our home here in Seattle and value taking care of it in any way we can.
