Serving the Wider Community
Serving the Wider Community

The Dawoodi Bohras of Washington, D.C., are passionate about making a difference. Through interfaith collaboration, service projects, and environmental initiatives, we aim to give back to the community we’re proud to call home.
- Interfaith Engagement: Our annual Ramadan iftar dinners and milad programs invite neighbors, local leaders, and interfaith organizations to come together and build understanding. We also hold collaborative events, such as roti-making, often with our neighboring church.
- Community Service: We actively participate in Montgomery County’s "Adopt a Road" program, organizing regular cleanups near our masjid. During the pandemic, we partnered with Brinklow Emmanuel Church to provide food for hundreds of families in need. Health fairs and other outreach efforts further demonstrate our commitment to the well-being of those around us.
- Environmental Stewardship: Sustainability is central to our efforts, whether through our Boy Scouts’ community garden, honeybee projects, or tree-planting campaigns.
- Cultural and Educational Events: We host programs that celebrate our traditions, including Quran recitation events and educational activities for children. These occasions not only preserve our heritage but also bring people together in meaningful ways.
