The Mayor of Irving, Texas Rick Stopfer and the Mayor pro tem of Irving, Allan. E Meagher visited the Saifee Masjid in Dallas and met with Shahzada Malik al-Ashtar BS Shujauddin on Thursday afternoon.
The Mayor welcomed Shahzada Saheb to the city of Dallas and said that it would be an honour to have him there during the Holy month of Ramadan.
Community members from Dallas and Plano were also present during the meeting and thanked the Mayor for taking the time to come and visit. The Dawoodi Bohra community’s deep rooted heritage and rich cultural history were discussed, along with ways in which the community contributes to society at large.
Shahzada Saheb then presented the Mayor and Mayor pro tem with the customary shawl and a small token of appreciation before they proceeded for a tour of the Saifee Masjid campus.
