The challenges we faced this year were like no other, but we came out the other side stronger than ever. The hardest challenge was applying to college without the support of teachers and friends.

Lean on your support army – your family, friends & community. They are the ones who will catch you when you fall and help you build yourself up stronger than ever.

What next?
I am headed to the University of California San Diego to study Computer Science. It is something that I’m passionate about and use my skills to advance my community.

Where are you graduating from?
I graduated from Washington High School, Fremont, California.

How was remote learning a challenge in your final year at high school?
During remote learning, there was always a feeling of anxiety as to what the future held. From college applications to testing, we had to navigate through it all individually. Being a senior was very different during the time that we were online, but finding the endpoint where we get to earn our diploma is what we prided ourselves on and was the goal that we ultimately reached.

Can you share some valuable advice to high school students entering their senior year?
Be confident in your goals and try to reach them no matter what the circumstances.

What next?
My future plans are to attend college out of state and to study in the medical field.
