FRESH MEALS FOR FRONTLINERS FROM 15-YEAR OLD MUSTANSIR

Dawoodi Bohras young and old have mobilized to help those positioned at the front lines of the unprecedented crises set forth by the spread of CoVid-19. In one New Jersey Dawoodi Bohra community, 15-year-old Mustansir Attarwala has taken it upon himself to organize meals for front line workers.

“In the news I witnessed the Frontliners swamped with hundreds of Coronavirus patients coming in every day. I thought to myself about how little time they must have to rest or even grab a quick bite. That’s when I decided that I should contribute as much as I could to help them by delivering food at their doorstep. “

Mustansir Attarwala is a member of New Jersey’s Bohra community. Since mid-April he has organized the delivery of fresh meals for rescue squads, EMTs, healthcare facilities, hospitals, food banks, and soup kitchens. For thirty days, Mustansir oversaw the delivery of food to more than 40 workers per day. Citing his motivation, he stated, “In the news I witnessed the Frontliners swamped with hundreds of Coronavirus patients coming in every day. I thought to myself about how little time they must have to rest or even grab a quick bite. That’s when I decided that I should contribute as much as I could to help them by delivering food at their doorstep. ” With physical classrooms closed for the time being, Mustansir articulates a sense of added purpose in helping those in need. Mustansir has contacted multiple restaurants in order to ask if they would contribute to his cause. He has organized meals to prominent hospitals and centers such as The Penn Medicine Health Care Center, The Park Place Healthcare Facility, East Brunswick Rescue Squad, and Elijah Promise Soup Kitchen. He serves as the chief organizer, deliveryman, and looks forward to continue helping his local community.
