Anjuman-e-Najmi volunteers in San Francisco assembled and delivered 53 snack packs and 53 hygiene kits to Abode Services – a local agency working to provide assistance and secure housing for individuals experiencing homelessness in the San Francisco Bay Area. This marked Anjuman-e-Najmi’s second such engagement with Abode Services.

Dawoodi Bohra families donated granola bars, fruit cups, crackers, bottles of water, and other snack items, along with pairs of socks, washcloths, toothpaste, toothbrushes and other hygiene items. Men, women, and children from the community gathered to assemble the donations into individual bags following the afternoon prayer at Masjid-e-Mohammedi and delivered the packages to Abode Services shortly afterwards.

“Syedna teaches us to help the less fortunate – I’m so glad I had a chance to participate in this today,” said one of the children after assembling several bags as part of the initiative. Reflecting on the impact the project had on him, “It makes me want to do more and more,” he said.
