Dawoodi Bohra community members sponsored and participated in this year’s Iftar dinner which hosted the Mayor of Houston Honourable Sylvester Turner and members of congress Sheila Jackson Lee and Al Green.

The dinner which is held annually during Ramadan by a collective of Muslim organisations and sponsors is a celebration of the Holy month as well as the Islamic philosophy of love for one’s country.

Mayor turner spoke of how the Muslim community in Houston is an important part of the cultural and religious diversity, and urged the community to keep helping the less fortunate in society.

Members of the Dawoodi Bohra Community presented the Mayor with a bouquet of flowers and thanked him for taking the time to participate in the dinner.
