Anjuman-e-Burhanee, Los Angeles, a nonprofit Corporation organizing and managing the affairs of the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat of Los Angeles, was honoured to host community leaders, neighbors and distinguished guests for a Ramadan iftaar reception and dinner program.
Guests were escorted on a tour of the facilities of the Mohammedi Center, including inside the sanctuary of Al-Masjid al-Ezzi. During the tour, members of the community explained elements of Fatimid architecture, the significance of the Moharram Ashara Mubaraka observances, and the Faiz-ul-Mawaid al-Burhaniyah community kitchen. After the tour, a brief program was conducted, beginning with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, the Pledge of Allegiance, and welcoming remarks by the President and Aamil Saheb of Anjuman-e-Burhanee, Janab Mukerram Bhaisaheb Hakimuddin.
Mukerram Bhaisaheb’s remarks began with the main message of His Holiness, Syedna Mufaddal SaifuddinTUS, that wherever members of the community make their home, they strive to be lawful and loyal citizens of their adopted countries, make an honest living, and give back to the community that has welcomed them and allowed them to flourish and prosper. The remarks closed by expressing the sincere desire of Anjuman-e-Burhanee, Los Angeles to continue forging bonds and working together with our neighbours to make our shared community a better place to live.
As sunset drew, guests were invited to observe members of the congregation offering their evening prayer, and then join in a small iftaar to break the fast. The iftaar consisted of dates, flavoured milk, some biscuits and tea. Afterwards, the group assembled in the VIP hall for a formal dinner. Guests were presented with gifts in the tradition of Ramadan, to express the appreciation and gratitude of Anjuman-e-Burhanee, Los Angeles for gracing the event.
