Plastic pollution is affecting the whole earth, including mankind, wildlife, and aquatic life.
Every year, tonnes of plastic are dumped into the ocean. As plastic doesn’t dissolve, it remains in the water thereby hampering its purity. It also causes harm to aquatic animals which consume it as a food and eventually die. When humans dump plastic waste into landfills, the soil gets damaged, and it ruins soil fertility.
We must all realize the harmful impact it has on our lives to avert it as soon as possible.
The Dawoodi Bohras of Ohio took one small step towards reducing plastic footprint by distributing reusable grocery bags and informational flyers to create awareness among fellow community members of the drastic need for us all to reduce plastic pollution.
The drive was taken up as part of Project Rise, a global philanthropic endeavor initiated by the Dawoodi Bohras and was inspired by Plastic Free July, an international movement that helps millions of people be part of the solution to plastic pollution – so we can have cleaner streets, oceans, and beautiful communities.
Come, be a part of the solution and help reduce plastic pollution!
