The Dawoodi Bohra Community of Philadelphia would like to congratulate Fatema Mun, a senior at West Chester East High School, on her acceptance of the 23rd Annual Spellman Humanitarian Award for her contribution to social upliftment.
The Spellman Humanitarian Award is presented to deserving students who exhibit the spirit of volunteerism and citizenship central to the life of the Award’s namesake, the late Dr. Elwood Spellman.
Fatema was profiled in the Award Program published by the school as follows:
“Fatema Mun’s selfless gift of time to numerous organizations makes her truly deserving of this award. Fatema helps at both the Chester County Historical Society and the Chester County Chamber of Commerce. She is working on a project at the Historical Society to help them collect oral histories from around the county and at the Chamber of Commerce, Fatema volunteered at the 2020 Spring Auction Gala to help raise money for the Youth Leadership Program. Fatema cares deeply about children, as she volunteers as a religious schoolteacher every Saturday for the last three years. She is also involved in the GirlUP helping women and girls in need of assistance in any way necessary. Fatema is also part of the Chester County Youth Leadership Program.”
We congratulate Fatema on her accomplishment and wish her the best in her future endeavors.
