The youth division of the Chicago Dawoodi Bohra community recently organized an inaugural City vs City ultimate frisbee tournament known as TUFT within the USA Dawoodi Bohra community on March 11th and 12th. The two-day event brought together 47 players from five cities – Chicago, New Brunswick, Detroit, Columbus, and San Diego – who competed fiercely in challenging weather conditions.
Despite the light snow, the youth of Chicago ensured that all players and spectators were well-catered to with food, accommodation, and transportation throughout the weekend. The tournament culminated in an exciting finale that saw New Brunswick, NJ emerge as this year’s winners.
Frisbee is a thrilling team sport enjoyed by thousands all over the world. The youth division of the NJ Dawoodi Bohra community initiated its first frisbee tournament in 2021, and since then, Houston and Chicago have followed suit by hosting different versions of TUFT. Through this tournament, young Dawoodi Bohras aim to strengthen the community by uniting players in their shared passion for the game and forging long-lasting friendships.
The organization is grateful to all participants for being a part of this brotherhood, contributing to something truly special. The Chicago youth division looks forward to seeing everyone again for the next Chicago TUFT Tournament, eager to witness the continued growth of sportsmanship and brotherhood among the Dawoodi Bohra youth.
